What Does 'Museum Quality' Actually Mean?

You’ve seen the term “Museum Quality” thrown around. But at YouMap, it’s a technical specification, not a marketing buzzword.

1. The Paper (200gsm)

We use heavyweight, matte archival paper. “Archival” means it is acid-free. Unlike standard posters that turn yellow after a few years, our maps remain crisp and white for decades.

2. The Ink (Giclée)

We don’t use standard toner. We use a 12-color water-based inkjet process known as Giclée. This allows for:

  • Deep, true blacks (crucial for our Dark styles).
  • Vibrant blues and greens.
  • Sharp text even at small font sizes.

3. The Frame

Our frames are made from sustainably sourced wood (FSC certified), not plastic.
